How to overcome stress

 'Stress' has become a buzzword today which everyone feels now or then, due to so many reasons like having a busy lifestyle and work overload. But we need to reduce it and try to overcome stress so that we can be more cheerful in life and we can easily focus on our goal. Studies also reveal that having little stress is ‘OK’, but when it’s too long or causing any type of harm; then it might be a matter of worry. We can try a few simple tricks to reduce stress. Sharing a few tips to overcome stress:

  • Don't take on more than you can handle, at times learn to say 'no'
  • Improve time management skills
  • Change your negative thinking, try to focus on positive thoughts
  • Set realistic goals in life
  • Exercise, eat right and get adequate sleep
  • Build relationships and connect with others
  • Focus on spirituality, such as prayer, meditation,  reading
  • Have time for fun and hobbies.

We can overcome stress, but it requires daily practice and few efforts. Even sometimes we cannot handle the situation or it can be uncontrollable and stress can be natural. In such cases, we can check our reactions or actions or little diversion may be helpful. If one still feels stressed definitely he/she can take help of professionals such as psychiatrist, counsellor or life coach.
